July has been a busy and brilliant month at Eight Bells!
We’re thrilled to welcome two new trustees to the team: Debbie Walter (Member Trustee) and Sharon Watkin. Their support brings us to a strong team of 10 dedicated trustees, all generously volunteering their time to help shape and support our community.
A huge well done to Sarah and Gary, who represented Eight Bells at The Mayor’s Concert at the Corn Exchange, what talent we have among us!
We also had a special visit from Jeff Bird, organiser of the Newbury 10K, who presented us with a cheque for £7,500. Alongside Newbury Cancer Care, we were proud to be one of this year’s beneficiaries, an incredible boost for our mental health support sessions.
At Newbury Pride, our stall raised £66.40, which was kindly matched by The Good Exchange to £133.80. We sold homemade fudge, pocket hugs and crocheted worry worms – thank you to everyone who braved the heat and supported us.
Lastly, a small group of members took a trip to London for a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament. There was plenty of walking, but it was a fantastic day – informative, interesting, and definitely one for the history fans!
Here’s to more connection, creativity, and community as we head into August.
