The members were delighted to receive a visit from representatives of Newbury Building Society. They were even more delighted to receive a cheque for £6782.00 as part of the NBS Cost of Living Support fund. Sammie and Michael from NBS called in to meet the group and find out more about what Eight Bells is and what it means for our members.
Their generous donation will make a huge difference by providing members with certainty about the future of the drop-in sessions they attend to sustain and improve their mental well-being. It provides them with a safe space with friends who understand what it is like to experience mental ill health on a day-to-day basis.
The donation will allow us to provide food hygiene training for members to carry out much-needed fundraising activities like coffee mornings which they enjoy organising and hosting. It will also mean we can reintroduce hot meals that are cooked by the members for members which can often be the only hot meal some members have.
