This year’s theme for Mental Health Awareness Week was Community – something that’s at the core of everything we do at Eight Bells for Mental Health.
Based in Newbury, we’re a small, member-led charity supporting adults across West Berkshire facing mental health challenges, loneliness, or isolation. Our drop-in sessions offer a safe, welcoming space where people can connect, share, and rebuild – with ongoing, unconditional support.
Why Community Matters
At Eight Bells, we’ve seen first-hand how being part of an understanding and supportive community can transform lives. Our members find purpose, friendships, and hope – and that’s something worth celebrating.
How we celebrated!
🌿 Wearing Green – Members and supporters wore green throughout the week to raise awareness and start conversations about mental health. It’s the colour of hope, renewal, and balance.
💚 Bucket Collections – A Big Thank You to Rachel and Our Supportive Communities
Our wonderful member Rachel has once again taken to the streets of Hungerford, Thatcham, and Newbury with her donation bucket, raising awareness of Eight Bells and collecting vital funds. As always, the public were incredibly generous, dropping in loose change and even notes.
Thank you, Hungerford, Thatcham, and Newbury, for your ongoing support.
☕ Thank You for Joining Us!
A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Community Coffee Morning on Thursday 15 May at St. Nicolas Church Hall. It was lovely to share coffee, cake, and conversation with you all. We really enjoyed meeting new faces, catching up with supporters, and chatting about the work we do at Eight Bells.
Mental health support should be available to everyone, and no one should face it alone. If you need some support with your mental health, please come along to one of our drop-in sessions or contact us on 0300 104 4504 or coordinator@eightbellsnewbury.co.uk
